Waterfall Swing
The Waterfall Swing, an interactive installation signed Mike O’Toole, Andrew Ratcliff, Ian Charnas & Andrew Witte, adds a whole new level of excitement to the activity as a wall of water pours down midway through the mechanized contraption. The thrill of nearly getting caught in a torrential downpour and escaping the fate of being soaked each time you make your way across can only bring insurmountable levels of joy.
A must-have in my backyard.
Sony Music Timeline - Alex Fowkes
The Sony Music Timeline celebrates 125 years of musical history covering the walls of Sony’s Derry Street headquarters. Using cut vinyl as a medium, Alex Fowkes took 6 months to make 54 columns measuring over 2 meters tall featuring nearly 1000 of Sony Music’s signed artists from 1887 to the present day.
A major work, with an impressive, inspiring & beautiful result.
Recycled Bicycle Chain Chandeliers - Carolina Fontoura Alzaga
Bike chains have been given a second life in this amazing set of recycled bicycle chain chandeliers designed and created by Carolina Fontoura Alzaga. Having lived in both Mexico and Brazil, Alzaga creates these bicycle chain chandeliers out of her Los Angeles based studio in a series project she has named CONNECT. They come in a multitude of designs that bike lovers are sure to enjoy.

Movie Scene Inspired Cut-Paper Silhouettes - David Reeves
This designer/photographer did a study on creating 3D environments for a photo class, using only lights and paper. He has different collections, inspired from several movies, in which he is able to create amazing scenes.

Flying Houses - Laurent Chéhère
Laurent Chéhère is no ordinary photographer, nor is he content with photographing houses in their natural surroundings. He photographs houses and makes them fly. It sounds like a scene out of Pixar’s film ”Up” just take away the balloons and swap animation for some seriously believable photo manipulation and the result is honestly impressive. Sporting washing lines, window flowers and even one burning building, the inspiration for the suburban town houses comes straight from the 19th and 20th arrondissement of Paris and considering his love of architecture and photography, you would think that combining them was a straightforward decision.
It just makes you dream.

FILMography - Christopher Moloney
FILMography is a site run by journalist and photographer Christopher Moloney, where old movie scenes are placed into their original settings. The idea behind the site is “Film + Photography = FILMography.” Using just black and white, and sometimes crumpled, printouts of selected movie stills, Moloney locates the setting in which each movie scene was first filmed. He then very conspicuously holds up the old image as a layer against the colorful, modern day location. Moloney has certainly identified a wide range of movies, from “Maid In Manhattan” to “The Thomas Crown Affair” to the “Ghostbusters”. As he finds new scenes to photograph, viewers are introduced to movie locations all across the city of New York.

Some pigeons are more equal than others - Julius von Bismarck & Julian Charrière
A collaboration between the Berlin-based artists Julius von Bismarck and Julian Charrière, “Some pigeons are more equal than others” can be considered something between street art and art installation, with side result, a series of beautiful pictures.
The artists dyed 35 pigeons, using a “Pigeon Apparatus” that trapped and sprayed the birds with non-harmful dyes. Once dyed the new “tropical birds” were released once again to mingle with the others, creating a somehow exotic scenario in the middle of this year’s Venice Biennale.

Italian Summer House - Sundaymorning & Massimo Fiorido Associati
This home renovation of a summer house built in the mid-60s is one that, at first looks ordinary, but then upon closer inspection makes you fall in love with the materials and details. Upon first glance, it looks as though the home is covered in wood slats but up close you see that it’s actually travertine marble tiles, definitely an unexpected material. Located in Marina di Castagneto Carducci, Tuscany, Italy, Sundaymorning and Massimo Fiorido Associati designed a home that feels at one with the landscape and yet stands out as a unique structure.
Book sculpture - Alicia Martin
As part of the Paper Biennial 2012 at the Meermanno Museum in The Netherlands, Spanish artist Alicia Martin has created one of her site-specific, signature book sculptures using thousands of books donated by the public for the event. Martin’s sculpture pours out of one of the museum’s windows, down the façade and onto the street. Quite impressive.
